A good weekend for a read...
Or three... Sunday, I polished off Coyote Dreams AND Walking Dead in the Walker Papers plus the Devil Inside by Jenna Black. The latter I actually had a really hard time getting into but it improved significantly about midway. The Walker Papers remain awesome. It just makes me sad that I have to wait until June for the next one. :(

Virtual Bookshelf
I'm not much of an organizer or a cleaner most of the times. I go in spurts. Currently, I'm in an organizational frenzy. I have vague ambitions towards joining Miss Violet's 10k project with an eye towards being more crafty (check out http://moderngypsy.com/junebug/ for more detail on the idea) - though I recognize that's pretty vague. But I'm seriously entranced with the idea of keeping track of all the books I read for the rest of the year. I'm curious. So, starting today, I'll try to post when I finish a book.
And it's a good day to start because I actually finished two today: Enchantment Emporium by Tanya Huff and Nice Girls Don't Live Forever by Molly Harper. Both were excellent supernatural fiction. Nice Girls, as a bonus, is supremely funny too. All in all, I'm happy with my reading choices for the day.
As for the 10k hours... I want to be a better person. I'm a middling to poor person now so I think I'd like to change that. I think for a few weeks I'm just going to keep track of how long I spend doing each of the tasks in my day and how happy they make me. I'll take it from there. Life is short enough. I want to make sure mine's filled with either enriching experiences or fun ones. To the extent that is under my control at least. Something to chew on for a while for sure.
Anyways, ciao.

Apple Overload!
So yesterday we spent an awesome day at the Apple Orchard while my loveling was studying. I came home with most of a bushel of apples (20 lbs!). It was a fabulous fun time and now I'm looking forward to making applesauce, apple butter, and apple pie!! It's going to be fabulous. I also managed to obtain cider, fudge, miniature animal crackers, a fabulous dip mix, and (shhhh don't tell the boy) garlic summer sausage! ahhh loot.
If you've never been to a pick your own orchard, I highly recommend going. They're always a ton of fun and you won't believe how much better the apples taste. Especially if you're lucky enough to have an organic orchard on hand. Plus it just makes it seem more like delicious fall.
On other notes, I finally got my hands on Sense and Sensability and Sea Monsters. I love this series. Adore it. Worship it. I have rarely read anything more entertaining - except for Terry Prachett. I highly recommend both this one and the first one, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
On the knitting front, I'm a good quarter of the way through the halloween birthday socks. The Outside in pattern is way easier than expected and I love the Stroll Tiger yarn from knitpicks. I am still warily avoiding casting on for the Mystic Embers Shawl. Since I've never done a provisional cast on over a spare cable, I want to make sure I have a big block of time to myself so I can screw it up a few times. I learned my lesson with Mystic Star. But I did do the swatch and I adore the yarn. Yarntopia's colorway came out fabulously. I hope to have pics here soon.
That's all that's interesting right now. Off to see Whip It!

floccinaucinihilipilification
This is my new word of the day. Must find a way to casually use this word in a sentence. How cool is that? Honestly! It's pronounced flocks-in-naw-sin-ny-hill-i-pill-i-fi-cay-tion. seriously. Like a whole line. You have to take a breath just to say it. And the meaning's not bad too: noun :the estimation of something as valueless (encountered mainly as an example of one of the longest words in the English language)Origin: all meaning “of little or no value, trifling”
And it remains cool. Must use in a sentence.
What was that? Oh. Well if you didn't realize I'm a total geek already, you should be well warned now.
On other news, there were chocolate chip cookies, crocheting, and shrinky dinks for yesterday. Damn near the perfect day. ;)
